It’s that time of year again – time to pivot your home maintenance and cleaning tasks to fit the season! To help you prioritize your to-do list, below is some information on what we think are the top three most important exterior home maintenance chores to tackle this time of year. As always, estimates are free on all services – so give us a call today!

  1. Gutter Cleaning

April showers are headed our way, so if your gutters aren’t ready to handle the rainy season, you could be putting your home at risk for major damage. A gutter that is clogged with leaves, sticks, and other debris can cause a leaky roof or water damage to the interior or exterior of your home. A full gutter can also make a nice home for pests, rodents, mold, and honeycombs from bee infestations — all things you don’t want to happen! We’re happy to come clean and inspect your gutters for damage they may have incurred over the winter to be sure they’re in their best working condition to handle any storms ahead. We recommend you get your gutters cleaned twice per year, starting in the spring, and again in the fall before winter hits.

Did you know? In addition to cleaning your gutters, we are now installing RainDrop Gutter Guard Systems. These make a huge difference in protecting your gutters from becoming full of leaves, twigs and other common sources of clogs. They also deter animals from settling in! We’re a big fan of this product and can customize each installation to fit your home’s needs. To learn more, visit their website here: RainDrop Gutter Guards.

  1. Window Cleaning & Screen Cleaning

Getting your windows cleaned immediately transforms and boosts curb appeal by refreshing your home from the inside-out. Springtime is the best time to get your windows cleaned so you can enjoy them all summer long. Also, did you know? A common myth is that rain causes dirty windows… but it’s actually rain passing through a dirty screen that causes splotches after a storm! Before installing your screens this season, consider brushing and rinsing them to avoid the transfer of dust and debris onto your glass. If you’re having your windows professionally cleaned, be sure to ask to have your screens included!

  1. Pressure Washing

As you begin to prepare your patio and deck to enjoy all summer long, you may begin to notice that these areas, plus your siding, roof, walkways and driveway, got a little dingy over the winter. And no, rain isn’t going to wash away the grime! Now is a good time of year to pressure wash all your home’s exterior surfaces. We offer a range of various types of power washing, including a soft washing process for sensitive areas such as your roof. Our process removes and then prevents re-growth of mold and algae. Now is the best time of year for this type of treatment because it’ll protect your home throughout the wet and hot seasons where mold and algae thrive most.
